Secondary School

GRADES 9–10

Students in Grade 9 – 10 use the International General Certificate in Secondary Education (IGCSE). Grade 9 and 10 choose subjects in Grade 9 only, as IGCSE courses are completed at the end of the grade 10 year. Core subjects taken at Bingham Academy for Grade 9 and 10 students include PSSHE, English, Math, Coordinated Science, Geography or History, a Foreign Language and an elective subject of PE, ICT, Drama, Music, or Art.

Grades 6 – 9 shall complete Cambridge Assessment International Examination Progression test at the end of the second semester.

Course Taken By Grade 9-10

GRADES 11 – 12

Students in Grades 11 – 12 use the International AS and A levels.

Bingham Academy offers as wide a range of Grade 11 and 12 subjects as is possible with the availability of staff and space. PSSHE (Personal, Spiritual, Social, Health Education) is a required subject for both Grade 11 and 12 students. Additionally, all Grade 11 students are required to take four ‘AS’ level subjects or a combination of four ‘AS’ Level, IGCSE, or non-CIE courses as available.

All Grade 12 students are also required to take three ‘A’ level subjects or a combination of four ‘A’ Level, ‘AS’ Level, IGCSE, or non CIE subjects as available.

All students must complete a synthesis paper in order to graduate.

School Uniform

 

Uniform skirt (knee length & should not be altered/shortened)
▪ Two uniform blouses
▪ Uniform jumper with school crest
▪ Uniform school jacket
▪ Footwear: Navy/black leather shoes with navy/black opaque tights or
navy/black socks. No canvas/casual style footwear permitted
▪ Uniform Trousers are optional and available by order only
▪ PE Uniform: Eureka crested (tracksuit bottoms, T-Shirt, Hoodie) and
appropriate sports runners. Eureka crested shorts are optional
